We began Horst Buchanan Architects in 1995 with the idea that a small residential design firm, employing a hands-on approach, would produce the best houses for our clients. With the benefit of experience, we continue to believe in this idea, personally overseeing the design of your house from initial ideas through construction.
Mary Horst
As a great listener attentive to the lives of other people, Mary is able to consider design from her client's point of view; her imaginative aesthetic is informed always by a practical approach to design.
Mary is a Registered Architect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the State of New Hampshire, and is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. She received her Masters in Architecture from Princeton University in 1985 and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia in 1983.
David Buchanan
With an eye for observing the world and a love of architectural history, David has the ability to help clients identify the best creative solutions; his thoughtful design method creates meaningful places.
David is a Registered Architect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He was awarded a Masters in Architecture from Princeton University in 1986 and a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in Art History, from Middlebury College in 1982.
